High-Volume Welding with Consistent, Repeatable Quality

A major step forward in our ongoing commitment to manufacturing excellence and innovation, our robotic welding and automation system is ideal for high-volume work requiring consistent, high-quality welds on thicker materials.

The ICS Robotics and Automation cell features two CNC-controlled Panasonic TM-1800WGIII robot arms operating in tandem on a rotating jig system. Components are clamped onto the jig and, once the CNC programme is started, the containment door lowers as one jig rotates into the enclosure while the other rotates out. This allows the operator to unload finished parts and reload new ones while the robot continues welding, reducing downtime and setup costs.

Advanced Technology for Efficiency and Accuracy

Each 6-axis Panasonic arm offers a 1.8-metre reach with exceptional flexibility, accuracy, and repeatable tolerances of ±0.08 mm. Using pre-programmed CNC paths, the dual-arm setup can weld multiple assemblies simultaneously, reducing cycle times and boosting productivity. The rotating jig also enables both sides of each component to be welded in one continuous process.

The result is a clean, high-quality weld with minimal spatter and almost no fettling required, eliminating post-weld cleanup and further improving efficiency. The system can be operated by a trained operator rather than a highly skilled welder, helping reduce costs and freeing skilled staff for complex fabrication work.
